Peter Blake 

With nearly 40 years of experience in the construction industry, Peter joined CMS in 1994 after completing his apprenticeship in stonemasonry. His first seven years in the industry provided the foundation of experience that he would later use in his role as Project Manager. Peter initially joined CMS as an Architectural Technologist while completing a further four years of study at the City of Bath College. During this time, he gained experience in design management and developed an interest in project management. This led him to complete a part-time degree in Construction Management at the University of the West of England (UWE).

Peter’s project experience spans residential, commercial, mixed-use, education and heritage projects, giving him a broad perspective and the ability to adapt to different client and project needs. He has worked on both new-build and refurbishment schemes, including projects on live operational sites, and is comfortable managing the challenges associated with complex stakeholder requirements and multi-disciplinary teams.

Peter has been Managing Director of CMS Group since 2008 and undertook a Management Buyout (MBO) in 2018/19. Since then, he has continued to grow and develop the CMS team, supported by both the Senior Leadership Team and Senior Management Team.

Peter promotes a collaborative approach between clients, key stakeholders, design team members, and contractors, and is known for his no-nonsense approach. He builds strong relationships across project teams to support effective delivery.

Outside of work, Peter has taken part in a wide range of pursuits over the years. While most of these have now taken a back seat, he still enjoys the occasional lake swim, gravel-bike ride and run. CrossFit is now his main focus, alongside creating a new home with his blended family.

Edward Parsons 

With 20+ years’ experience in project management and construction consultancy, Edd has led a wide range of projects across the built environment. He takes a practical, down-to-earth approach and supports clients through every stage of the development process, from early strategy through to completion and use. Over the years, he has worked closely with clients, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to help keep projects on track in terms of programme, budget, and quality.

His experience spans residential, commercial, mixed-use, education, and heritage projects, giving him a broad perspective and the ability to adapt to different client and project needs. He has worked on both new-build and refurbishment schemes, including projects on live operational sites, and is comfortable managing the challenges that come with complex stakeholder requirements and multi-disciplinary teams.

Edd is known for being organised, collaborative, and easy to work with. He builds strong relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors, and is valued for his calm approach, clear communication, and ability to keep things moving while managing risk and resolving issues along the way. His focus is always on helping teams work well together and delivering a successful outcome for everyone involved.

Outside of work, Edd enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing padel, mountain biking, watching motorsport, and getting outdoors whenever he can.

David Lane 

David Lane is an Associate Director and Senior Quantity Surveyor with extensive experience delivering cost management and commercial services across a wide range of construction projects including a particular love of Heritage and Private Residential projects. He provides clear, pragmatic advice and ensures strong financial control from project inception through to completion.

With a broad portfolio across multiple sectors, David has developed a detailed understanding of the full project lifecycle, including feasibility, cost planning, procurement, contract administration, and final account negotiation. He is highly skilled in identifying and managing commercial risks, enabling clients to make informed, value-driven decisions.

David adopts a collaborative, solutions-focused approach, working closely with clients, design teams, and contractors to deliver successful outcomes. He is known for simplifying complex cost and contractual matters, helping teams maintain progress while protecting commercial objectives.

In his role as Associate Director, David supports the development of colleagues and promotes high standards of professionalism, accountability, and service delivery.

Outside of work, David enjoys dog walks, Padel, and has a keen interest in bird photography, reflecting his patience, focus, and attention to detail.

Kyle Jeske-Ling

Kyle has 20+ years of experience in the construction industry, specialising in the education sector. He joined CMS as a Project Manager with a wealth of knowledge and experience and works hard to ensure our diverse portfolio of projects run smoothly.

With collaboration essential to the success of project delivery, Kyle has a natural ability to bring people together to explore all aspects of the project’s potential in line with the clients brief. With an eye for detail and comprehensive understanding of construction technology, he successfully communicates with stakeholders and construction professionals to overcome challenges and find solutions.

Kyle is passionate about continued personal development to ensure he provides the best possible service and remains up to date with industry best practice and compliance.

In his spare time, he enjoys being with his family having adventures in their campervan and exploring new places. Kyle also rates himself as a barista and appreciates good coffee.

Colin Pugh

Colin is a Senior Quantity Surveyor with over 45 years’ experience providing cost and contract management services to the construction industry. He is chartered, having qualified as a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 1990.

In that time, he has gained a broad range of experience in all aspects of the profession. His expertise covers a wide range of sectors including housing, health, heritage, education and commercial. His early experience was working contractor-side before switching to the consultant role providing professional surveying services working for clients.

Colin brings a professional approach to projects and with good communication skills and extensive knowledge of the industry, embraces a collaborative approach with all parties – clients, design consultants and contractors – to deliver successful outcomes to projects.

In his qualified role at CMS, Colin provides counselling for colleagues and mentoring support for their development for RICS qualification.
Outside of work Colin enjoys family time, caring for the dog, DIY, travelling (particularly heritage related) and dining out.

James Hibbert

James is an accomplished Quantity Surveyor with more than 10 years’ industry experience. He has experience in Commercial Management, Quantity Surveying and Procurement. During his career, James has worked on a spectrum of projects spanning a range of value and duration in industries including retail, education, hospitality and healthcare.

James has experience working contractor-side before bringing his knowledge to CMS to deliver value for clients, and has a good knowledge of a range of different forms of contract. Known for his practical expertise, commercial awareness, and dependable approach to delivering value across construction projects, James has a strong foundation in cost management and contract administration. James plays a key role in ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, within budget, and to the highest professional standards.

James has responsibility for overseeing project finances from early-stage Orders of Cost Estimate through to final account settlement, bringing a detailed and analytical mindset to cost planning, procurement, and risk management, helping clients to make informed decisions at every stage of the construction lifecycle.

Beyond his technical capabilities, James is committed to continuous professional development and keeping up to date with industry best practices. He has a strong academic background, with university degrees in Physics, Law and Quantity Surveying, and recognises the importance of evolving within a sector that is constantly evolving.

Outside of his professional role, James enjoys volunteering in the local community, as well as trying new cuisines (whether in the kitchen or trying out local restaurants). He also enjoys venturing further afield, getting out walking in the countryside or exploring European cities.

George Smith

George is a Project Manager with a strong technical background and a broad understanding of construction projects from both operational and commercial perspectives. Prior to joining CMS, he worked for a specialist sub-contractor delivering post-tensioned reinforced concrete, remedial slab repair and structural strengthening solutions, including CFRP systems. During his career, George progressed from site-based roles into logistics and procurement before moving into project management, giving him valuable experience across the full construction process.

George joined CMS to become involved earlier in the project lifecycle, with greater exposure to the planning and development stages of projects in line with the RIBA Plan of Work. He is passionate about expanding his commercial awareness and enjoys working across a diverse range of sectors, while continuing to develop his knowledge and expertise within the construction industry.

As a Project Manager, George is involved throughout the entire project lifecycle, supporting clients from project inception through to completion. He brings practical on-site experience together with strong organisational and communication skills, helping to deliver successful outcomes while building collaborative relationships with clients, consultants and project teams.

Committed to continuous professional development, George completed a degree in Construction Project Management at the University of the West of England while studying part-time alongside his professional career. He is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Building (MCIOB) and is dedicated to maintaining his professional standards while continuing to broaden his industry knowledge and qualifications.

Outside of work, George enjoys keeping active through golf, running and padel, and spending time outdoors. Whether exploring new places, getting out for a run or enjoying a round of golf, he values making the most of opportunities to stay active and maintain a healthy work-life balance.

Hope Linkomola

Hope is a dedicated and ambitious Graduate Surveyor with a strong foundation in cost analysis and value management. Having recently graduated from Leeds Beckett University with a degree in Quantity Surveying. Balancing academic commitments while growing a commercial mindset has equipped Hope with resilience, discipline, and a proactive approach that continues to shape their professional career.

Throughout university, Hope developed a particular interest in cost analysis, gaining experience in cost planning, estimating, procurement, tender analysis, and financial reporting. With a keen eye for detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving, Hope enjoys analysing project costs, identifying efficiencies, and supporting clients in achieving the best possible value while maintaining quality and commercial objectives. His analytical mindset, combined with excellent communication and organisational skills, enables him to contribute effectively within collaborative project teams.

Now beginning the next chapter of his career, Hope is committed to continuous professional development and building expertise across all aspects of quantity surveying and commercial management. Passionate about delivering high-quality outcomes and developing lasting relationships with colleagues and clients, Hope is enthusiastic about taking on new challenges and contributing to successful projects.
