PROJECT SUMMARY

The Orangery sits within the garden of a Grade II* listed private dwelling in the Cotswolds, a site shaped by centuries of history. A 12th-century Cistercian monastery once stood here before its destruction in 1536. The present Georgian house, built in the early 18th century within the abbey grounds, later became a private residence.

Designed as a garden retreat, the Orangery echoes the Palladian style of the house’s south elevation, with matching glazing proportions and detailed stonework reflecting its pilasters, frieze, and cornice. Garden landscaping reinforces symmetry, balancing the massing of the Orangery with the landscape opposite.
