CMS Quantity Surveyors were appointed by King Edwards School, Bath for the Development Masterplan review which incorporated several feasibility studies for individual projects. Prior to this review the school had considered its own development proposals and the phases of which these would be undertaken over the next 5 to 10 years to reflect both their growing number of pupils, increase retention for sixth form changes and trends to favoured subjects and an increased requirement for pre-prep and primary education environments. The study required the interaction with several key stakeholders within the school including heads of departments and governors along with finance managers, The Bursar, and fund raisers from the marketing department. This project aided CMS in gaining a further understanding of some of the key factors within the education environment that can influence not only the size and location of a development but also the sequence of which they are undertaken.
