Science Research Park, Wiltshire

CMS acted as the Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors on a project to create a high-tech science research and development facility in Wiltshire, involving the restoration of two historic World War II aircraft hangers. The facility was designed to allow the historic structures to be granted a new lease of life for another 50 years into the future.

The proposed solution would provide an outer shell for a new modular lightweight glulam frame structure to be inserted within the existing hangar space, offering substantial embodied carbon savings compared to demolition and rebuild. CMS provided project management and quantity surveying services to this £50m project up to RIBA Stage 2.
