CMS Architects participated in this year’s RIBA Student mentoring scheme, in collaboration with University of the West of England, Bristol. The mentoring scheme is intended to give students an insight into practice and to enhance their learning experience.

CMS feel this RIBA-run scheme is vitally important in supporting the next generation of architects, and helping to improve what we do as professionals, helping the transition gap between university study and practical working. It is also an opportunity for us to give back and assist with that often-daunting move into professional practice.

Chris Hills, a student of the programme said:

“I had the opportunity through the RIBA mentoring programme to experience both the on-site and office environment of an architectural practice. Thank you to CMS for showing us around two sites (one just started and one with a couple stages finished) and around the office. The highlight would have to be the site on The Circus, Bath, a very rare opportunity”.

We would like to wish all three students, Christopher Hills, Daria Glander and Kyi Su Mon the best of luck with their future studies on becoming an architect!
