Following on from the Staff Spotlight last month, this month we will be talking to one of our Senior Architectural Technicians, Ben.
Name – Benedict Coulthard
Job Title – Senior Architectural Technician
Time in practice – Over 10 years in total.
Education – HNC in building studies and a BA in Outdoor Adventure Management
Hobbies – I have a one-year old daughter, so hobbies have gone out the window. Love to cooking especially an American style slow cooked barbecue.
What aspects of your job do you enjoy the most and why? The sheer variety. In the last 5 years I have worked on a modular built unit on the roof of the Bristol BRI hospital, a new home for Wiltshire air ambulance, a retirement village and a major refurbishment and extension of a doctor’s surgery/health centre.
Most exciting project to have been involved in? A new temporary west stand for Bath Rugby to increase capacity until a new stadium can be constructed. The combinations of a tight site in the middle of Bath and a short timescale made this a fast paced and exciting project to be involved in.
Proudest achievement at work? Seeing the Wiltshire air ambulance open their new base combining their charity and air operation all in one purpose made building.
