Following on from the Staff Spotlight last month, this month we will be talking to Architectural Technician, Grace Brooks.

Name: Grace Brooks

Job Title: Architectural Technician

Time in practice: 4 years

Education: HNC in Construction and the Built Environment

Hobbies: I usually spend a lot of time going to concerts and live events but Covid has put that on the backburner for the time being! At the moment I am spending most of my time embroidering or cross stitching whilst looking after our lockdown puppy and kittens.

What aspects of your job do you enjoy the most and why?:

Personally, I love the variety that comes with working at CMS. I can be working on a Grade II listed building in the morning and a new build retirement village in the afternoon, this really keeps the job fresh.

Most exciting project to have been involved in?:

Working at CMS there is always a different range of projects and no project is alike another but I would say the most exciting project to have been involved in was the new Wiltshire air ambulance base, it was such a unique project to see develop and have a chance to be involved with so early in my career.

Proudest achievement at work?

Completing my higher national certificate and gaining further experience at CMS over the 4 years which has led me to managing smaller projects more independently.
